RINER provided Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Testing and Land Surveying services for this multiple building apartment complex. Building 1 is a 10-story building with 4 subterranean levels and Building 2 is an 8-story building with 2 subterranean levels. Both buildings are constructed with cast in place, post-tension reinforced concrete decks.
RINER performed the geotechnical field investigation, including all drilling and logging, which included soil borings to 60-feet in depth. RINER’s Geotechnical Engineering report provided recommendations for construction excavations, below grade retaining structures, building pad earthwork, drilled piers, shallow spread footings, slab on grade and pavement construction. Throughout the design phase, RINER worked closely with the project team to verify foundation design criteria. Engineering input continued through the early phases of construction to address construction dewatering and to address spread footing elevations and locations planned for placement within engineered fill.
RINER’s testing and inspection scope during construction included foundation, pavement and utility earthwork, spread footings, drilled piers, cast in place concrete, conventional and post-tension concrete reinforcing, and masonry inspections. RINER’s surveying scope included establishment of survey controls, and construction layout for footings, slabs and utilities. Responsibilities will also include final surveys and preparation of as-built documents.
