August 13, 2021 – We don’t just work on buildings! On one of our more unusual projects, RINER is currently providing Construction Materials Testing services to the City of Houston for their 108-inch diameter water line in north Houston. This segment spans from Aldine Westfield Drive to Willis Street, a distance of 7,100 feet and follows up on another 6,100 foot segment that RINER completed in 2019. When complete, this line will carry water from the City’s Northeast Water Purification Plant to a connecting large diameter line, increasing the overall capacity of the region’s drinking water system.
RINER’s testing scope includes monitoring of trench backfill materials for the new water line, tie-ins, storm inlets and other affected utilities. Our scope also includes testing and inspection of tunnel grout, structural/paving concrete and asphalt materials. This demonstrates RINER’s versatility and capabilities on unconventional projects.
