RINER provided Construction Materials Testing services for this 32-story high rise apartment building. The structure included a 6,700 CY mat foundation with cast in place, post-tension reinforced concrete decks through an integral 9-story parking garage and into the remainder of the tower.

RINER’s testing and inspection scope during construction included foundation, pavement and utility earthwork, cast in place concrete, conventional and post-tension concrete reinforcing, masonry, and structural steel inspections. RINER also assisted the concrete contractor with the casting and testing of concrete sample cylinders for development of maturity meter strength curves.

The unconventional building design included exterior shear walls with decorative pre-cast concrete cladding. Reinforcing steel inspection work required very detailed structural inspections and close coordination between RINER, the structural engineer and the concrete contractor’s field representatives to confirm positioning of the reinforcing steel and pre-cast panel anchors throughout the lower 9 floors of the building.
