RINER provided Geotechnical Engineering, and Construction Materials Testing services for this dining hall structure on the Sam Houston State University campus. The building consists of 28,000 SF plan area, single story masonry and steel‐frame building. The scope also includes a total of 80,000 SF of adjacent parking and drive areas. 

RINER performed the geotechnical investigation which included 4 soil borings, totaling 120 feet, to delineate subsurface conditions across the site. All drilling and logging was performed by RINER personnel. RINER’s Geotechnical Engineering report provided recommendations for building pad earthwork, spread and strip footings, retaining structures, slab on grade and pavement construction. The Geotechnical Engineering report included recommendations for groundwater controls, demolition considerations and existing fill conditions.  

The CMT inspection scope for the project included monitoring of building pad, paving and utility earthwork, spread footings, conventional reinforcing steel, concrete, structural steel inspections, masonry and asphalt.
