June 9, 2021 – RINER attended the May 26 ULI San Antonio luncheon at the Tobin Center for a discussion about: “The Case for Open Space” – Why the RE Industry Should Invest in Parks & Open Space.” Featured speaker, Tara Green of OJB Landscape Architecture and former President of Klyde Warren Park in Dallas, shared secrets to the parks’ success over the past 10 years and a timeline to add additional amenities. The event included Panelist Daniel Woodroffe, Elaine Kearney, Andres Andujar, and Moderator, Melissa Chamrad. This experienced “open space” group of designers and project managers shared insight to an audience of about 300 on what makes open space areas successful, how the programming for these spaces is crucial, and how private and public partnerships can work together.
San Antonio has interactive areas to build world class open spaces that offer fitness, dining, and children’s activities in park settings which attract and retain tenants, residents, and tourists for engaging experiences. It was interesting to see how some of these spaces can be re-imagined.
