RINER performed geotechnical engineering services on a project for TxDOT Dallas District, Contract No. 32-332P5050 WA No 1. The scope included a total of 57 soil borings to depths ranging from 35- to 75-feet below ground surface (bgs). The final project scope included bridges/MSE walls/cantilever walls/embankments and pavement. Project was on a fast track requiring close coordination between the Civil/Structural Engineer (Burns & McDonnell) and Geotechnical Engineer (RINER).

RINER provided geotechnical recommendations for Mechanically Stabilized Earth Retaining Walls, slope stability of embankments, settlement of embankments, and axial capacity and lateral resistance for drilled, straight-shaft piers for bridges along the 15.46-mile alignment. The project required numerous meetings with the engineering team to evaluate construction risk and engineering challenges associated with the project.
