RINER served as the Geotechnical Engineer and Construction Materials testing firm for this 140,000 SF multi-story tilt wall design cold storage warehouse and corporate office facility.
At the onset of construction, RINER was asked to review the foundation recommendations provided by another geotechnical engineering firm. RINER provided alternative recommendations in regards to the underreamed pier foundation which allowed the Owner to save in excess of $100k in construction costs and resulted in a significant reduction in the construction schedule.
RINER’s construction materials testing and inspection scope included verification of subgrade preparation, and inspection and testing of building pad and pavement subgrade soils. Building pad fill exceeded 25,000 cubic yards. Testing and inspection also addressed drilled piers, cast in place concrete for slab, elevated decks, wall panels and paving, floor flatness, and visual and ultrasonic structural steel inspections. Reinforced concrete pavement on the project totaled over 460 KSF.
Unusual construction features inspected by RINER included underreamed piers as large as 126-inches in diameter, thickened slab on grade sections and multi-layer insulated tilt wall panels.
