Riner Engineering (RINER) was selected to provide Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing Services for the YES Prep Southside Elementary campus expansion. The project included redevelopment of an existing campus building and a new two-story 44,000 gross SF administration building, sports pavilion, and parking and drive areas totaling 120,000 SF on the active campus.

The administration building design included a composite concrete over steel deck second level and underreamed drilled pier foundations. Redevelopment of the elementary school included expanded entryways and addition of elevated decks within the existing school building.

RINER’s testing and inspection scope included building, paving and utility earthwork, drilled piers, building and pavement reinforcing and concrete, and visual field inspection of welded and bolted connections and decking materials.
